Demographics are shifting. Technology is rapidly evolving. Our climate is changing.
Here in the Columbia Basin, how we prepare for the effects of these will help us thrive in a changing landscape.
The goal of the Symposium is to a create dialogue and discuss ways to positively harness the potential of these changes. For example:
• Are there new business opportunities that would thrive in a warmer climate?
• How can organizations increase productivity through technology?
• How can communities serve and benefit from populations that are becoming more culturally diverse?
Everyone who lives in BC's Columbia Basin is welcome to attend the Symposium: whether you are involved with a non-profit, local government or industry, or are generally interested in the well-being of your community and this region.
The FREE Symposium takes place October 13 to 15, 2017, in Kimberley.
About the Columbia Basin Symposium
An important role for the Trust is bringing residents together at events like the Symposium, to help the region work toward solutions to shared challenges, celebrate accomplishments and develop interconnectedness between residents. We’re committed to hosting a Basin-wide Symposium every three to four years.
The Symposium hosts approximately 300 attendees from around the Basin. It engages key leaders, entrepreneurs, businesses and residents active in their communities to collectively look toward the future of the Columbia Basin.
